Dinah – Silent Movie
Oh you think you can file it away, still the silent picture plays
Dinah's Silent Movie is a warm, cinematic indie-pop song about memories you cannot lock away. A single from the Berlin duo of Mya Audrey and Robert Kerner, added to Cozy Indie & Folk 2026.
"Our movie, I watch it roll in black and in white." Dinah open "Silent Movie" with old pictures glowing soft and slow, and the whole song stays inside that flickering screen.
The verses move from black and white to red, blue and green, as the memories come back in colour. Then the chorus lands: "Oh you think you can file it away, still the silent picture plays. Oh you think you can lock it away, still the silent movie plays." It is gentle and light on the surface, with a lot of longing underneath.
Dinah are the Berlin-based duo Mya Audrey and Robert Kerner. The single came out on 2 October 2026 via Strickfabrik, together with an official video directed by Brian Kramer, shot in Shipley and Brighton. The band describe it as the story of a post-war youth, shaped by trauma, nostalgia and the search for a sense of home. We added it to Cozy Indie & Folk 2026 on 3 October.
That is why it is Song of the Day. A soft, warm indie-pop song that still says something about the things families never talk about.
