Lauren Amour – SCARY MOVIE

Scary movie! You pull me in, petrify me

Lauren Amour's SCARY MOVIE turns a toxic relationship into a horror film, with a chorus that ends on "I will be the final girl". A pop single from the North East singer-songwriter, added to POP NEWS by UNIQUE.

"You came through the door like a bad omen." Lauren Amour opens "SCARY MOVIE" like the first scene of a slasher, and the whole song stays in that frame.

The verses list the warning signs (the chills when he says her name, the air turning cold in the bedroom, picking up the phone every time he calls), and then the chorus hits: "Scary movie! You pull me in, petrify me." It is a glossy pop chorus with a horror-movie wink, and it ends on the best line of the song: "You're gonna get what you deserve, cause I will be the final girl."

The single came out on 1 October 2026, together with an official video directed by Pippa Poppay, complete with a masked figure behind the sofa. Lauren is an independent singer-songwriter from the North East of England, and we added the song to POP NEWS by UNIQUE on 2 October.

That is why it is Song of the Day. A pop song for Halloween week that you will be singing after one chorus.
