Frankie – Edwin

Pretend I could climb a tree right up to heaven. The closest I can get is walking with Edwin.

Frankie's Edwin is a gentle, searching song about loss, faith and doubt, and about someone who quietly listens. Written by Frankie Holleman & Joe Williams, produced by Joe Williams, released on 23 October 2026 and added to Lonely & Broke.

"Called you in the morning to tell you what had happened." Frankie opens "Edwin" in the middle of a hard day, when "everything I wanted was burning into ashes" and the person on the other end of the line simply listens: "Quietly you listened and held my heaviness."

The chorus admits there are no easy answers: "When time's not on my side, nothing's black and white." It wishes for the impossible ("Wish I could bring her back, make that summer last") and lands on something small and real instead: "The closest I can get is walking with Edwin." The second verse turns to faith and doubt ("I know I still love Jesus, and I've heard he still loves me / But it's hard to kick the habit when you're hooked on a belief"), before the bridge settles on "I'll find you where you've always been."

Frankie wrote the song with Joe Williams, who also produced it. "Edwin" came out on 23 October 2026, and the official visualizer, directed by Spencer Holleman, is on Frankie's YouTube channel. We added it to Lonely & Broke on 23 October.

That is why it is Song of the Day. An honest, tender song that leaves its questions open.
