Tessa Rae – All I Ever Wanted Was Us
When did the world stop working for you? All I ever wanted was us.
Tessa Rae's All I Ever Wanted Was Us is a hushed, dreamy pop song about loving someone through their darkest days and wondering if forever was asking too much. Written by Tessa Rae, released on 23 October 2026 and added to Lonely & Broke.
"Where do the days go? Where did your smile go?" Tessa Rae opens "All I Ever Wanted Was Us" with questions instead of answers, watching someone she loves slowly drift out of reach.
The verses keep asking, softly and without blame: "Where are you hiding? What are you fighting? When did the world stop working for you?" Then the chorus says it four times in a row, as simple as it gets: "All I ever wanted was us." The second verse lets the doubt in ("Is it worth wishing if nobody's listening? Maybe forever was asking too much"), before the song closes on "I came to my senses to let you be reckless."
Tessa Rae wrote the song, and Ben Zelico produced and mixed it, with mastering by Gerhard Westphalen. "All I Ever Wanted Was Us" came out on 23 October 2026, and the official music video, directed by Bawb Mason, is on her YouTube channel. We added it to Lonely & Broke on 30 October.
That is why it is Song of the Day. A quiet, aching chorus that says everything in six words.
