Lily Ozz – Star Crossed

"I still think of the time and place for us, where the stars aligned." Lily Ozz sings "Star Crossed" from the moment after a chapter is supposed to be closed, and finds out it isn't.

The song opens with exactly that admission: "I thought I closed that chapter shut, thought my feelings were turned off. Turns out strings don't just unknot." The first chorus still sounds like goodbye ("Maybe there was a time and place for us, but that time has passed"), but by the second one the tone has softened into something warmer: "And I know it was short but that's alright." In between, she wants to get "a car or a train or a plane or a bus" just to be close again, before admitting "You're just too far away."

Lily Ozz is a singer-songwriter from Lower Austria, and "Star Crossed" came out on 2 October 2026 on Crosslight-Records; an official video is on her YouTube channel. We added it to Cozy Indie & Folk 2026 on 27 October.

That is why it is Song of the Day. A bittersweet, honest little love song that lets a short story be a good one.
