Scarlet O'Hara – Songbird

"Oh these are the only things that make me feel like a human again." Scarlet O'Hara opens "Songbird" at her lowest point, at someone's mercy and asking for someone to make her remember how to live.

The chorus doesn't pretend to be fine: "As long as I wake up tomorrow with something to numb the truth." But it ends with a way out: "Cause like the songbird I will fly, far away from what I once knew." The second verse goes further ("I'm immune to fear, I've made friends with the ground"), before the bridge piles up one "let me" after another and the song closes on a long "na na na" chant.

Scarlet O'Hara wrote both the music and the lyrics, and sings lead and background vocals. Andrew Kam plays synthesizer, guitar and piano and did the programming, with James Zipfel on fiddle and violin and Kaitlyn Walker on background vocals. "Songbird" came out on 21 October 2026, and the official music video, directed by Karson Eaton, is on her YouTube channel. We added it to POP NEWS by UNIQUE on 22 October.

That is why it is Song of the Day. A song that sits with the pain honestly and still finds the urge to fly.
