Why it's Song of the Day
"You're living in a ghost town, tired of your old man." The first verse of Oscar Stembridge's "Garden" finds someone stuck in a place that has stopped moving, and the advice is simple: "If you want a new life, you gotta go, go."
The pre-chorus counts the days away ("Monday, Sunday. Years turn blurry. Same old story."), and then the chorus opens up with the promise the whole song is built on: "When all you got is rainy days, I can be your hideaway. I'll take your tears and grow a garden." The guitars push it forward, and by the end that last line comes back again and again.
"Garden" was written by Oscar Stembridge, Chris Collins and Philip Strand, produced by Philip Strand, and released on TEN Records on 16 October 2026. It is the final single from the EP "Heartbreak, Blurred Nights & Everything in Between", and the official music video features Oscar with Sebbe, Lykke and Viggo. We added it to New Rock Drive: Indie & Alt Rock 2026 the day it came out.
That is why it is Song of the Day. A bright, big-hearted indie rock song that turns a grey day into something you can grow from.
